Chroma Cube – A Timberdoodle Review
I’m so excited to share this very fun product from Timberdoodle called Chroma Cube!
“Sudoku-like Chroma Cube is a logic puzzle game that employs attractive wooden cubes and a variety of deductive skills to solve. Just select a Chroma Cube card, set up the board to match the starting pattern, and use the rest of the clues to decipher the completed design. “
Not only is this solid wood game so pretty to have out on the coffee table, it has attracted every member of the family – from dad down to the youngest. It’s recommended for ages 8 and up.
The back of the box describes it like this – “The 12 wooden cubes may look easy enough while sitting in their tray, but figuring out what cube belongs in which spot can be quite a challenge. Try to decipher the cryptic clues on any of the 25 puzzle cards that accompany this set to determine how the colors should be arranged. If your’e stumped, don’t worry! The answers to each puzzle are on the back of the card.”
The clues vary from card to card and sometimes the clues themselves are tricky to figure out! Chroma Cube is a great way to keep those critical thinking skills sharp and can also be the perfect boredom buster. One of my favorite parts as a mom is that all the cards store right inside the wooden box.
The 13-year-old in the house is the one who seems most drawn to this puzzle, (probably because she has the most spare time – LOL!) If I leave it sitting out and available, she will tend to play around with it. I have to fight my urge to keep things neat and orderly and not PUT AWAY ALL THE THINGS. This game makes it a little bit easier to keep out because it’s so pretty!
If you get stumped – and you WILL – the answers are right on the back of the card. This game is fun and VERY addicting. It seems so simple but really makes you think. Once you realize your mistake, it draws you in and makes you want to try another card.
As always, Bentley the World’s Cutest Dog gives this fabulous Timberdoodle product TWO PAWS UP!
