Sweet little Calliope’s Newborn Lifestyle photo session in her home overlooking the Chesapeake Bay was such a delight to capture! How amazing to walk out the front door of your home with your sweet new baby and see the sun glittering off the beautiful Chesapeake in the distance?  Two big brothers welcomed Calliope home.  Her oldest brother was one of my newborn clients many years ago as well!  Following my families as they grow and capturing sweet memories for them is one of my favorite parts of this job.

While Calliope was finishing up her morning feeding, the boys and their daddy were busy playing trains.   Catching those everyday moments during your newborn lifestyle session that will one day mean SO MUCH has become a new focus for me.   “The days are long but the years are short,” is one of those sayings that has taken on a new meaning for me.  My own kids have grown up in the blink of an eye and looking back on the pictures that capture the regular every day ordinary moments are always my favorites.

Well hello there sweet baby girl!!   A sweet little girl to love on must be so much fun after having two baby boys!

Multi-generation portraits during your newborn session are a treasure! Life can change in an instant and being intentional about freezing those moments in time will leave you with no regrets.

Having beautiful picture perfect portraits is something we all want – because life is beautiful! However, there is so much beauty in the messy as well.   Freezing these little moments in time will one day be a treasure.  They remind us that mothering is HARD, its a beautiful mess.  An uncooperative toddler alongside a newborn baby is just the beginning of how hard motherhood can be.  The days seem endlessly impossible but oh the beauty of it all!  Soak in every moment mommas, the good and the bad, because those moments go by in a flash.  What I would give to have just one more moment holding on to my little squiggly chubby cranky toddlers.

Welcome to the world little Calliope! You are SO DEARLY loved.  God chose the most perfect family for you, a family that is so in love, so intentional, and so determined to make the impossible a reality.  Get ready for a lifetime of love and adventure sweet little girl!
