The Top Five Things I’m Loving this Fall

Can you feel it? Those first few days where the air is crisp and cool in the mornings, but by the afternoon you are looking for your summer shorts again! Ahhhhh, I love September.  It’s getting back into normal rhythms and routines, the excitement of back to school and new normals.  I always love to reset my home each season, bring out some seasonal decor, and ….ahem…. rearrange the furniture.. AGAIN.  Ask my hubby how often I rearrange the furniture and you will get an immediate eye roll!

Here are my top five FAVORITE things I’m loving this fall!

These Kirkland Heavenly Herringbone Plush Throws

I have them in three colors, and right now they are on sale for only $9.99!  You cant beat that to snuggle up on the couch on those crisp mornings with your pumpkin spice latte.  They are the perfect size and the perfect weight for an early fall throw. These are the ones I grab for the car too since they are on the smaller side and lighter – but they are super soft and wash up so nicely.

This Sweater outfit! This is all from Old Navy, Wal-Mart, Target and Amazon – y’all I’m not fancy over here. I love putting a button up shirt under sweaters in the fall so when the afternoon warms up I can just take off the sweater and still have a great outfit.  I’m loving this button up from Target this fall and I’ve worn it a ton already!

These Frog Blob prints from my daughter’s print shop!

If you haven’t discovered these hilarious & angry frogs that are taking instagram by storm, you don’t want to miss this! These frogs have strong opinions, have quite the take on social justice, have some tummy ache issues, drive cars and have just about the cutest little frog tushies that you ever did see! I love these prints in my dining room.  They seem a tad sophisticated until you take a really close look and see lots of froggies hiding in the flowers and leaves – even some with their cute little frog butts.  You can find these prints plus much more in her Etsy shop here.

THIS book by Mary Marantz – Slow Growth Equals Strong Roots – this book spoke to my very soul.  Mary has an incredible talent of painting pictures with words.  This book is not only beautiful in itself but I was hanging on her every word.  I read it first on Kindle and then just knew I had to buy the bound book as it’s one I will read over and over.  I so deeply identified with her roots of a childhood in a broken home, an absentee parent, and more.  She dreamed and planned of a future that would escape it all, she graduated with a law degree from Yale yet followed her dream to become a photographer, and then paved a path to great success as a speaker, author and much more.  Her first book called “Dirt – Growing Strong Roots in What Makes the Broken Beautiful”.  , a story about the places where we start and the beauty of it all – she referred to herself as ‘the girl in the trailer’ and ‘the girl after the trailer’ and WOW, sometimes I think she was writing that book directly to me.

THIS Candle From Kirklands – Copper Leaves and Spiceit’s the perfect fall scent – I prefer clean fresh smells over things like apples and cinnamon, so this is perfect!

Kirklands Candle

I hope your first days of fall are filled with cozy blankets, good books, flickering candle light and cute outfits!

Much Love,
